In Belize homosexual acts are not subject to any specific rule of law. The age of consent according to the information we have is 16. You should however be aware that, while it's not homophobic, public tolerance towards homosexuality only goes so far. In 1998 there was an outcry against a cruise ship with 900 gay men on board. Even though in reality there are few cases of open violence against gay men, the gay community is completely hidden. In Belize there is no gay rights movement working towards an improvement in gay rights.
