There is no prohibition on homosexuality in the Philippines. The age of legal consent is 18. Philippine law prohibits public scandals -regardless of whether the perpetrators are homosexual or not. The Anti-Discrimination Act (Bill 956 from the House of Representatives) is an act prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and lists penalties for violations of this act. Sadly this bill is still at the committee level and is still under debate. There are several, LGBT organisations in the Philippines and gay life is generally quite open, although the majority of the population is Roman Catholic. Wonderful beaches, fantastic scenery, friendly people and mouth-watering cuisine are just a few reasons to visit this fantastic country.
